The Faculty of Humanities is comprised of three departments: the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, which aims to cultivate profound refinement and abundant sensibility regarding Japanese literature and the Japanese language; the Department of English Language and Literature, which aims to serve as an opportunity to start living a rich and sensitive life, through four years of carefully working with English; and the Department of Communication and Culture, which takes a close look at many global and international problems, and aims for future activity concerning a broad range of culture and society.
Each department provides education related to its field, along with the common educational goals of high-level language proficiency and the development of a humanistic character, using a curriculum beginning from introductory and fundamental courses, and continuing on to specialized and applied courses.
