Exchange/Visiting Students

Through agreements concluded with universities worldwide, Otsuma Women’s University accepts exchange/visiting students from those universities to study at our campus for one semester to one academic year, while remaining enrolled in their home institutions. Every year, we send out application information to our partner universities to welcome exchange/visiting students.

Courses for Exchange/Visiting Students

The International Center offers Japanese Studies courses to provide exchange/visiting students with the opportunity to delve into the Japanese language and culture. Some classes organize field trips to enable them to experience Japanese culture at first hand. Exchange/visiting students who have demonstrated proficiency in the Japanese language may choose to take one course or two.

Support for Exchange/Visiting Students

The International Center provides support with all aspects of exchange/visiting students’ daily lives in Japan:

Enrollment

Moving into the dorm
Orientation sessions
Campus tours

While at Otsuma Women’s University

Renewing a residence card
Managing and giving instructions on part-time jobs
Support with residence registration at the ward office and enrollment in the National Health Insurance plan
Holding exchange events for international students
Adjustment to life in Japan, concerns regarding health issues

Leaving Japan

Completing paperwork and other tasks prior to departure
