Studying human living as an integrated science and as a quest for new wisdom related to living well
Studies in Human Life Sciences consists of three specialized courses: Health and Nutrition; Human Environmental Sciences; and Childhood Education, Care and Pedagogy. The curriculum is designed to facilitate a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary approach to research into issues on humans and human living.
The Health and Nutrition course aims to develop specialists in food and health who will pursue careers in the fields such as medical and healthcare service, public health, dietary education, and food product development in companies. The Human Environmental Sciences course runs research and education programs to study science, management and design related to clothing, food, housing, lifestyles, communities and the global environment. In the Childhood Education, Care and Pedagogy course, students study clinical care services for developmental disorders, focusing on issues specific to each development stage. They seek to develop abilities to clarify the essential nature and background factors of such issues and take theoretical and practical approaches to solving them. Through these studies, the course produces highly competent human resources, including successors, in the fields of early childhood care, education and clinical care.
In addition to the above, Studies in Human Life Sciences offers a diverse range of courses to cover human living sciences, from among which students can select flexibly to meet individual academic interests.
